Christmas Eve/Day 2008

Well our first Christmas is done now and we are working on getting the house put back together. The kids enjoyed themselves a great deal. We started Christmas Eve out at the Fiala's house with my family and then headed over to Chad's mom and dad's for the rest of the evening. We finally made it home around 11PM that night. The kids were so excited that when we got home Nellie was still going 100mph. We were woke up by Wesley on Christmas morning around 7AM as he was wanting to open his Santa presents. He had to wait for Nellie to get up and she slept in until almost 8:30AM. The kids were so excited as Santa brought them a gumball machine and Wesley got his hair gel and hairspray that he asked for. To say the least we really enjoyed our first Christmas as a family.

Snow Day!

Well today Bellevue Schools canceled due to the sleet/ice that we got last night. Wesley has been patiently waiting to be able to go outside and play in his new snow boots, so we bundled them up and out they went while dad cleaned the sidewalk and driveway off. They had so much fun playing outside in the snow. Wesley was no-stop the whole time he was out there and Nellie on the other hand took some time before she was comfortable playing.

Recent Happenings

Well It has been awhile since I updated, so here are some of the things that we have been doing for the past month. The Saturday after Thanksgiving Grandma and Papa Shade came over for dinner and then decorated cookies with the kids that I had made earlier in the day. There are some pictures of the kids with Grandma and Papa decorating the cookies, I am not sure how much got on the cookies rather then the kid's hands.

On December 6th we celebrated Nellie's 3rd birthday, we had our family and close friends come over to help her celebrate. Nellie got lots of nice things, and really enjoyed her birthday cake. She had picked out which cupcake she was going to have before the party even started and of course it was the one with all the frosting on it.

Christmas Joy

It has been so much fun watching the kids get excited for Christmas. Everywhere we go Nellie get so excited to see all the Christmas decorations. We went to Hobby Lobby yesterday and she was so excited while walking around the store. She pointed out every Christmas tree and Santa decoration that she could find. Wesley is trying to figure out how Santa will get into our house, since we have a gas fire place. We told him that Santa has a special key and this is how he gets into our house. He then wanted to know if he would hear Santa come into the house at night.
Yesterday we also worked on putting up our Christmas lights and Wesley told Chad that if he didn't want me to help him put up the lights he could ask him and he would do it. While Chad and I were working on the lights Nellie stood by and watched us very closely. They were both so excited when we turned the lights on and they could see what we had done. I can't wait until they get to help us put up the Christmas tree, this will be a wonderful time. We are looking forward to this years Christmas with the kids, they are so excited for the holiday to get here.

It is official

Well it is official, the adoption was finalized today! We would like to welcome Wesley Tucker Reed and Nellie Christine Reed to our family. Thank you to all of our family and friends who came to court with us this morning to celebrate the special day. Wesley is so excited it is too cute. He keeps telling us that he loves us more then we know. He was telling Chad and I tonight at dinner that even we are the BEST mommy and daddy that he could ever ask for. He is so excited to join the new family. Thank you again to everyone for your support during the last six months. I will post some pictures later that we taken today.

Here are some pictures of the kids on Halloween. They went trick or treating around every block in the neighborhood.

Welcome

I want to welcome all of you to the Reed Family blog. Chad and I will be using this to keep our family and friends up dated on what is going on with our family. In one week our adoption of Wesley and Nellie will be final. It was six months on November 3rd that they had come to live with us. Our lives have changed completely since this time. We treasure each day that we have with them and are amazed at how far the kids have come since then. Wesley is so excited to become a Reed just like his mommy and daddy.
